EU Battery Passport for Prague and Czech Manufacturers
Battery Passport compliance for Prague manufacturers. EU Battery Regulation 2023/1542 services for Czech automotive, e-mobility and stationary storage suppliers.
Prague anchors the Czech Republic's growing electric mobility and energy storage cluster. The metropolitan region hosts research-and-development centres for Skoda Auto's e-mobility platforms, Czech Technical University battery research groups, and a constellation of tier-2 and tier-3 suppliers in Praha-Holesovice, Praha-Letnany and the surrounding industrial belt of Stredocesky kraj. With Skoda Auto's electrified Volkswagen Group platforms and the wider Czech automotive supply network ramping up, dozens of Prague-area firms manufacture battery modules, BMS hardware, cooling plates, busbars and pack enclosures destined for the European market. From 18 February 2027 onwards, EU Battery Regulation 2023/1542 makes the Battery Passport mandatory for every industrial battery above 2 kWh placed on the EU market. EcoPass operates a Battery Passport solution localised in English, Czech and German that connects to the most common ERPs in the Prague ecosystem (SAP, IFS, Helios) and to Volkswagen Group's supplier data exchange. Our Czech delivery network includes specialists familiar with TÜV SÜD Czech Republic and EZÚ certification workflows.
The Czech Republic enforces EU Battery Regulation 2023/1542 through the Ministry of Environment (Ministerstvo zivotniho prostredi) and the Czech Environmental Inspectorate. Prague-based producers must register with the national EPR scheme for batteries and report annually to ISPOP. EcoPass aligns each Battery Passport with EU Annex XIII data fields, with the Czech ISPOP reporting structure and with the German LkSG due diligence requirements that affect almost every Czech tier-2 supplier exporting to German OEMs.
A 95-employee battery enclosure manufacturer in Praha-Letnany, supplying directly into the Volkswagen Group MEB platform, needed to deliver Battery Passport content for 14 enclosure variants with full traceability of aluminium and steel sourcing. Pre-EcoPass, this data was scattered across three ERPs after a 2022 acquisition, and supplier audit data lived in PDFs in three languages. EcoPass deployed connectors to Helios Green and SAP S/4HANA, OCR-digitised the audit PDFs, and produced QR-resolvable Battery Passports in English and German. The supplier secured the next platform generation contract (estimated 22 million euros over five years) and shortened quarterly customer audits from three days on-site to less than half a day.
